On Political Correctness

NO PCI am down right sick and tired of “Politically Correct”. I have had it. I don’t wish to offend anyone, and I don’t want to be rude. But I refuse to change my day-to-day terminology just so I can be careful not to offend somebody I probably don’t know and probably wouldn’t like if I did know them. Piss on political correctness. Say it like it is. For example, I am overweight. I know I am overweight.  So don’t dance around the issue and think of non-offensive ways to tell me I am fat. Just tell me I am fat. Maybe if I hear it enough, I will do something about it. I am fat, not weight challenged.

To paraphrase Abraham Lincoln, you can please all of the people some of the time,a and you can please some of the people all of the time, but you cannot please all of the people all of the time. If you think being politically correct means you will offend no one, sorry but you failed. You have offended me by trying to be politically correct. . And that is what politically correctness tries to do, please all of the people all of the time. It just cannot be done.

So, I declare war on political correctness. I refuse to wish anyone a Happy Holiday. It is Merry Christmas and if that offends you, tough! It is Happy Easter, not happy Spring Celebration, and if that offends you, tough! Some people are fat, and some people are short, and some people are stupid. If we say you are weight challenged, vertically challenged, or intellectually challenged, it does not change the fact that you are fat, short, and stupid. So if that offends you, tough!

Those are my thoughts, what are yours?
