\"\"In 2013, I posted an article here called My Bucket List<\/a>.\u00a0 At that time, the list was quite short, having only three items on it.\u00a0 As I look back, I realize that I have actually accomplished two of those three items. The odds of completing the unfinished item any time in the near future are quite remote, so I have decided it is time to update and revise my list.\u00a0 In that my 79th birthday is only about\u00a0 seven weeks away, it reminds me that I have probably experienced way more of my life than I will experience going forward.\u00a0 It also makes me realize that on the premise that one should not kick the bucket until their bucket list is complete, I want to add items to the list in the hopes that the added items will add the necessary time to my life to complete them.\u00a0 So here goes\u2026<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Item 1<\/strong>:\u00a0 I would like to have the opportunity to walk again on thesandy beaches of the Gulf Coast of Florida.\u00a0 There is something about the feel of the warm sand between one\u2019s toes that is beyond equal.\u00a0 This seems possible.<\/p>\n

Item 2:\u00a0<\/strong> I would like to visit the memorial to the U.S.S. Arizona in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.\u00a0 I have visited the war memorials in Washington, D.C. and the emotions I felre hard to describe.\u00a0 I feel a need to pay tribute to those who died at Pearl Harbor as well.\u00a0 This one might be a bit more difficult to achieve, but hope springs eternal.<\/p>\n

Item 3<\/strong>: I would like to travel by train to Chicago and take one or more of the Gangster tours.\u00a0 However, the one caveat is, I want to do this solo.\u00a0 Over the past few years, due to failing eyesight, I have lost most of my ability to do things independently, particularly if transportation is involved.\u00a0 But since I will not drive the train or tour bus, I should be able to figure the rest out unassisted.\u00a0 I guess this one is remotely possible.<\/p>\n

Item 4<\/strong>.\u00a0 I would like to revisit some of the places I visited while in the Navy.\u00a0 This includes Istanbul, Turkey; Nice, France; Portsmouth, England; and Palma de Mallorca. I visited them as a young sailor, but my attention tended more towards the seedy side of these locations, and I missed out on the cultural aspects of these ports of call.\u00a0 I would like to correct that.\u00a0 This one is really a stretch, but one can hope.<\/p>\n

\"\"Item 5<\/strong>:\u00a0 I need to revise one from my original bucket list.\u00a0 In that list, I spoke of dancing at all of my grandchildren\u2019s weddings.\u00a0 I mentioned that my youngest grandchild was only two, so it was asking a lot.\u00a0 Since I wrote that in 2013, that two-year-old is now a teenager, but the concept has become more challenging in that yet another grandchild was added to our family, and she is only four.\u00a0 I am saddened to think that this item is probably unattainable, but who knows.<\/p>\n

There you have it, my revised bucket list.\u00a0 Please wish me luck on achieving all the items, or better yet, you can donate viacash, checks, or money orders gladly accepted to help finance this list (just kidding, I don\u2019t take checks).<\/p>\n
