I am utterly perplexed by the current situation in our great nation. I fail to comprehend how it is possible that when a vast majority of citizens elect an individual and entrust them with office based on the promises made, it is acceptable for a minority to actively oppose the will of the majority and attempt to impose their own agenda on the populace. This situation leaves me deeply confused and disheartened.<\/p>\n
The dilemma I perceive is this. Every elected official, irrespective of their political affiliation, is elected to serve the entire population residing in a specific region. An elected official is entrusted with the responsibility of representing all citizens, not just those who belong to their political party. Once elected, their allegiance shifts to representing the entire population, and it becomes their duty to work towards fulfilling the aspirations of the people they serve, rather than the preferences of those who voted for them or the interests of their political party.<\/p>\n
Yet, after only a few short weeks, it seems as if this privileged few believe it is not their responsibility to follow the will of the majority of the population but rather to impose their agenda on the minority who support them. In my opinion, these elected officials are neglecting their duties and should be impeached and removed from office. They should be removed because they are not fulfilling their elected mandate of representing the people. That\u2019s where the fundamental principle of \u201cwe the people\u201d comes into play. The people elected them, not themselves or their political party. If they fail to align their actions with the desires of the majority they represent, they are failing in their duties and must be removed.<\/p>\n
I never imagined I\u2019d witness an elected official publicly defying the leader of the free world. It\u2019s unthinkable to see an elected official publicly insult the holder of the Office of the President of theUnited States with vulgar language. When you address the president of the United States with such profanity, you\u2019re essentially telling a majority\u00a0 <\/span>of the population the same thing. Honestly, it doesn\u2019t reflect well on our nation. They must remember that it\u2019s not just what the American people perceive; it\u2019s what the entire world perceives. This behavior makes us appear weak and vulnerable.<\/p>\n I realize that many will probably disagree with me, at least a certain percentage will.\u00a0 I expect some will call me names for my opinion, not unexpected and certainly not the first time.\u00a0 I only ask that people consider all the facts and what their options are if they disagree.\u00a0 After all, there will be more elections and more opportunities to change the course, but until then, I think we can be much more successful if we try to support and not throw roadblocks in the way.
