Happy New Year Y’all

Well, we made it!  Another year gone by and still alive and kicking.  Admittedly not kicking quite as hard as in preceding years but kicking, nonetheless.  And that is a good thing.  So, today is not only an anniversary date for the world as we begin another year but is an anniversary for my Wife who was born on New Years Day!  Happy Birthday to my Wife Vicki!  She probably won’t read this, but I would be remiss in not at least extending the wish.  Oh, let us not forget, there is yet another Anniversary to remember.

Today marks the beginning of the 11th year of existence of the Townehouse (blog).  I posted my first article on January 1, 2010.  It was oddly named “Happy Birthday Vicki!”.  I don’t think she read that one either, but now it is to late.  Due to an unfortunate set of circumstances, which is an oblique way of referencing my stupidity for not backing up the website, the first couple of months’ worth of articles were forever lost in digital space.  Although I was able to recover some, I was not able to recover all, and thus the beginning months of this adventure in my life are forever lost.

As you may recall, but probably do not, the first iteration of this site was called “Unorganized Thoughts”.  It was so named because I did not know what I was going to write about, I only knew I was going to write about something.  That name stood until a disaster occurred with the loss of the articles database.  But also, as previously mentioned, most of my earliest articles were recovered and the website was resurrected under the name of the Townehouse Phoenix.  It was so named because I cleverly considered the recovery as like that of the Phoenix Bird rising from the ashes.  I thought this was very clever and I was quite proud of myself for thinking of it, but most did not get it, including the web search engines.  Whenever I would perform a search for the Townehouse Phoenix I had many returns about Townehouse rentals in Phoenix, Arizona but very few about my website.  So, another re branding ensued, and the Townehouse Blog was born.  It has remained thus named for about the last seven years but recently the name was changed  to Townehouse Voice.  Should you want to know more about why it is called Townehouse (since I live in a ranch house) then you may click here to read all about it.

Okay, now we are all up to date.  I am trying very hard to keep this light just in case you are reading this with a hangover.  If you are, then you probably had more fun last night then did I.  My New Year’s Eve consisted of valiantly trying to stay awake until midnight so that I could be the first to Wish my wife Happy Birthday for the 45th time.  Do not misunderstand that number to imply she is 45 years old, for she is not!  But I have had the good fortune to be with her and be able to wish her Happy Birthday 46 of the years she has been in the world.  I won’t give away her age, but I will say the first time I wished her Happy Birthday was on her 21st birthday.  You do the math. In conclusion, to all the readers of the Townehouse, I hope you have a very happy and prosperous New Year.  Oh, and Happy Anniversary Townehouse!

Those are my thoughts, what are yours?
