You Must Prepare!

5872105-Obama-vows-prompt-Chattanooga-responseYesterday’s terror attacks on US Military establishments in Chattanooga, Tennessee have left me horrified and frightened. Every time we have a domestic terror attack in the United States it is reported as a senseless act that we must learn to live with. It is reported as something that just happens but not as something that must be dealt with. What bothers me most is that there are rarely, if ever, any persons in the vicinity of these attacks to provide a defense for themselves or for their fellow citizens. People are leaving themselves defenseless and hoping it does not happen to them, and when it does they are not ready. Because of this lack of preparation we are mourning the lost of four of our Marines and one of our Sailors. Five lives lost, and it may have been preventable.

You must prepare. You must have a plan. You must share this plan with your family, your friends, and with your co-workers. You must be prepared to take whatever steps are necessary to make sure you are mentally and physically able and ready to respond. You cannot depend on the police because the police cannot be at all places at all times. The potential for police presence at such an event, when it is occurring, is very slim. The potential for a member of the military to be present at any given time is probably much higher, but the chances that military person will be armed are not as likely. Based on what I know and what I have heard, the military only trains its members in the use of firearms. It does not, however, allow its members to carry a firearm on a day-to-day basis. It sounds foolish when you think about it. We train our police officers and require them to be armed while on duty, and recommend they be armed when off duty. We allow retired police officers who qualify to carry a concealed weapon in all 50 States, yet we do not allow our highly trained Military access to weapons unless they are in a war zone. Well, they are in a war zone right here inside our borders, yet they are not armed.

It is time for our federal Government to wake up and realize that we are in a war zone right here in the United States. It is time for them to realize that incident such as Fort Hood, the Navy Shipyard,a and the Chattanooga attacks would have been quickly suppressed, or even less likely to have occurred, if the rank and file of military members at those institutions were armed and ready to engage. The United States has declared war on terrorism. It should be obvious too even the most obtuse bureaucrat out there that this war is not limited to locations in the Middle East. The terrorist have brought the war to our shores. America is part of the terrorist war zone and there terrorist attacks can happen anywhere at anytime. The only way to fight this threat is by properly and adequately arming our police, our military, and our citizenry to be in place at all times, ready to engage.

The 2nd Amendment abolitionist need to take a step back and get out-of-the-way of those of us who are ready and willing to do what it takes to defend America and keep it great and free. The old expression “if you are not part of the solution then you are part of the problem” truly defines the anti-2nd amendment radicals who are helping, willingly or unwillingly, the causes of the terrorist threatening our freedom in the United States. Do not think for a minute that we are not at war, or that the war is not right here inside our borders. Make a plan, know your plan, and be prepared to do what is necessary to keep you and your loved ones safe and free.

Those are my thoughts, what are yours?

Never enter any city unarmed. It’s not only the muzzies. Not only “carry” but learn how to use it.
